Romeo and Juliet depicts William Shakespeare's heart wrenching story of forbidden love. Ben Stevenson's choreography is great for all ages because it features exuberant costumes, striking sets, passionate dancing and dramatic action scenes. Prokofiev's beautiful score adds romance by providing sweet, sweeping melodies to accompany light, flowing dresses and gentle embraces. When Texas Ballet Theater last performed Romeo and Juliet in 2010, D Magazine exclaimed the "Diligent artists allowed the choreography and Shakespeare's legendary love story to speak for itself."
